Default What do you do when you feel your hair makes you look frumpy??

I think i must just have the Jan blues i have been a bit down since Christmas and i think i miss my dad which has only just recently sunk in, so have been feeling really old and frumpy and thinking would i look better with short hair i won't do it because when ever i had a hair cut out of impulse in the past i instantly regretted it.

It got me thinking though i can't be the only that has moments like this what would you do to cheer yourself up? i did a henna last night and have put on a bit of make-up to make me think i don't looks as old as i feel today at 35!

This may seem silly in depths of winter (or is it spring? can't tell anymore) but a big bright flower clipped near a bun always makes me happy. Here is a tutorial to make some yourself it's easy, fun, cheap and you can make them exactly like you want them. A bright nail polish and matching lipstick instantly makes me feel put together. If your hair doesn't cooperate a big handband, snood (I've seen also them with shiney paillettes, easy to attach some to an existing snood) or a fun hat or beanie.

A couple things work for me: putting my hair up in some interesting hairstyle and remembering a photo of me with an above-the-shoulder length hair cut that really made me look frumpy (and no way to fix it except wait ).

Back before I cut mine last summer, I'd put in in a comfortable French braid so I didn't notice the weight or have it in my face and ignore it that day. Generally by the evening when I took it out to comb out I'd love it again.

I usually go in the bathroom, pull out the sticks. Flip it a few time till it gets that fun flirty look. Then I admire it a minute and put it back up. It's almost like wearing sexy panties, You know its there even if others don't.

Come here and post photos of your beautiful hair down and in different beautiful braids and updos. All the thudpiles that follow make your frumpy feeling turn to fabulous!

I get like that, too, Wavy, in the depths of winter. Soldier through with all the fun suggestions above, and come springtime, when the world blooms again, you have too!

I try to not pay too much attention to how it looks till I get over it and I will never wear it fully down when I’m like that.

I take it down, smooth the top a bit and put it back up again! The only time I feel frumpy in the hairtastic region is if it looks too frizzy on top.

Wavy, that long region between BSL and waist seems to take for. ev. er. to get through. But hang in there; it's just a blip on the radar once you get to waist, and then the body markers are closer together and your progress seems to fly.
