I did not have good luck with RL products, PM me for more info or go find my postings in the thread on the other forum. Basic is they weren't sturdy and snag hair.

I'm sorry to hear that your RL items didn't work out for you.
I've had problems with various hairtoys for a myriad of reasons. Sometimes the hairtoy simply isn't a hair-friendly item. I've mistakenly purchased a few items like this. Another problem I've had, even from really good artists is one of oversight on quality control. I once purchased a hair fork from a seller who was well known to me and who does high quality work. This particular fork had a long sliver-type of crack on one of the tines that caught on my hair - this is how I discovered the flaw. I knew if I returned it to the maker he would fix it for me but it looked like something I could fix so I pulled out some finger nail files and buffers and sanded and sanded and sanded some more. With time and patience I finally got it to where it was just fine. I never even told the seller about it because I was able to solve the problem. I hate having to send things back for repairs.
Anyway, I'm hoping I don't have any problems with these items. I suppose the design portion on the first set of hair pins could be a hair trap but I'm hoping not. I have a few Bijoux Manoel hair pins and I do have to be careful not to catch my hairs in some of them when I am adjusting or removing them. The only hairtoys I've ever had that didn't occasionally trap my hair are simple, unadorned hair sticks and forks.

My hair threw a hissy fit with the wire used and attachment points. My hair does love to throw hissy fits, but this was wonky.

Alrighty, here is my action shot of my RavensLair hair pins. I had to wait until morning to get good light for the picture and then, wouldn't you know it, I had to fight with the glare from the light. It took me 18 shots to finally get one that didn't reflect so much that you couldn't see the detail on the hair pins. My updo was rather hasty and messy but I figured what you really wanted to see was the proportions of the hairpins anyway and I think this picture does that very nicely.
